Finally had time this last weekend to check the fuel pressure. It read 52psi in my book it says its supposed to be 40-45. Is it ok that mind is at 52? Could that be causing any problems with the miss fires

Well not knowing what rig you're referring to (put your truck info in) can't say for sure. But, some fuel pumps are very sensitive to pressure which can cause a mis. But mine, the PSI should be at 49.2 with a +/- 5psi...did you watch the gauge after you shut the engine off?

Oh sorry. I posted my info on the first said. I have a 96 dodge ram 1500 with the 5.2 l automatic. And the Gage did not go up if anything it might have dropped a pound or two

That's good, shouldn't drop for a bit..If you are getting a high reading it will be the regulator but make sure your #'s are correct (normal op pressure) and don't forget the +/- psi and test after truck is warm..add your info to your sig
