I have a 2000 Dodge ram 1500 with the 5.9 360. The gas pedal is very easy to push up to half throttle. From half to wide open you have to push very hard. Could it be binding somewhere or what is the problem? Thanks
Take a look at the pedal/bracket and see if anything is broken/bent/binding.
Take a look at the throttle cable under the hood while you pull the throttle open from the throttle body.
I suppose the butterfly valves on the throttle could be binding as well, so take a look at that.
Without knowing what you have or have not done, my suggestion would be to open your hood and have a look to see what might be binding it up. Work the throttle by hand.
my truck kinda had the same issue, it seem the throttle cable had a little to much slack in it and the pedal was hitting the floor when i tried to accelerate fast, so i put a zip tie behind the gas pedal on the throttle cable to take up some slack, feels so much better now.
Disconnect the throttle cabe from the throttle body and push the petal. If its easier to push your problem is the throttle body. If its still difficult when you disconnect it then your problem is the cable or something getting in the way of the petal. Make sure there's nothing between the gas petal and the floor
