I'm returning my kit back to Summit.
$20 for 4 sets from RuffStuff is a pretty good deal. 3" length and 9/16" bolt size.

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed 198k and the rear axle is out of line using the string alignment method.Looks like it needs bushing in the springs.I don't have the time to remove the gas tank and replace the bushings. It doesn't drive well, wanders side to side. What if I put a cheap hand winch behind the left rear wheel to align it...i know it's african engineering but I don't see how it would do any harm?

it has a 6 inch lift I think from the previous owner.I replaced a tie rod, track bar, bent rotor and hub and tightened the adjustment on the steering box.Had an laser alignment done at tire warehouse and was told there's no adjustment on the rear axle...bs,the internet forums tell how to do that.I told the manager I know it didn't come from the factory misaligned,he said some do.Belknap tire told me there's no adjustment,I told him he's wrong. If I align the rear axle does it affect the laser alignment that was done today? thanks

rear axle is leaf springs, and maybe a sway bar.... It's a solid axle, in all reality, there is no adjustment back there. It is where it is. If the bushings are bad, they need to be replaced. Alignment shop should have been able to see that. (if they are worth anything...)
Was the replacement track bar the same length is the one you took off? Things get strange with lift kits.
Also, things are prone to rusting as well.... how bad depends on where you live. Make sure the shackles, and all the mounts are good as well.
Moving the rear end around IS going to affect your alignment..... Best bet is, fix it once, fix it right, get it re-aligned.

It has some rust,I sprayed it with oil using a stainless fire extinguisher that I rigged to my compressor and put a hole at the top of the pickup tube inside so it makes a fine spray.I'm going back to Tire Warehouse to get the printed report from the laser alignment,it should have a reading from the rear wheel.I replaced the track bar with the stock item from Oreilly's auto parts. It was the same as the part that I removed.thanks
