Default suggestions for shocks

hello,

looking for some suggestions dealing with a good set of shocks. the rancho's on the truck now are shot, so Im looking for a decent shock at a decent price.

I was looking thru the catalog at RA and im liking the monroe HD shocks, anyone have experience with them? not looking to blow a bunch of $$$ on bilsteins, koni's, or whatever. once I decide its a good time to drop the truck properly ill spring for some racing type shocks.

Thanks

I just used the $20 blue ones from Rockauto. Monroe-matics. Been about 6 months with plowing and still good.

I use Blisten... they are not cheap but they are good and really last about 80-100k miles.

i've used various reasonably priced shocks on trucks in the $20-40 each range. monroe, gabriel, etc. they're all good. on the dodge i've got a set of gabriel ultra's from autozone. on the explorer i've got a monroe from amazon.

shop for best price on rockauto, amazon, advance (with discount codes), ebay, etc.

the bilsteins are very good, but very expensive. see if you can find them for an affordable price.

I put a set of Gabriel on my Ram about a year or so ago, and they are working great. Got them from AZ with a 2 for one deal.

which do you think sounds more manly? "magnum" or "light truck".
go with magnum.
