The 318 probably has the NV3500 behind it, which really won't last very long behind a 360, in a 3/4 ton truck.... especially if you use it AS a truck..... also makes a difference if the trucks are 2, or 4 wheel drive. Can't mix and match transmission. At least, not easily.

Using everything off the donor truck EXCEPT the flywheel, and trans, and sourcing the correct flywheel, and an NV4500 would work though. Should have everything you need.

I've been pushing a LOT more torque than a 5.9 through my NV3500 for tens of thousands of miles. 235k miles total. I wouldn't think twice about it in a 1500, but a 2500 may be a bit much.

my buddy has a 1500 with 8 lug axels under it and he has a 360 but he also has the tranny out of the 1500 which is the same 5 speed as what i have he had it for about 2 months and did a fourth gear drop burnout and scattered it accross the ground but idk if i dont do anything stupid in it like him i think i can keep it together as a temporary thing, my problem is what happens with the ecm does it still read for the auto and will there be any problems? and what do i gotta do to fix it?.

Punctuation will work wonders for ya!

The problem with the PCM is that it will throw various codes due to the lack of an automatic transmission being there.

The 318 flywheel will NOT work on a 360. You will need pedals, and possibly different driveshafts. If you wish to talk to me (I've compeleted the swap successfully), I'd be happy to help you get a idea of what it takes and walk you through over the phone. If you want to do that, PM me.

I'd urge you to make a write-up on this subject; seems to be an area where many are interested (including myself) but few have ventured. Any info on the web is very patchy / incomplete
