Default 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 3.9L Headlight Wiring Help.

Can someone help me find the right diagram to wire my headlights back to it's original state?

Right now they are running from a toggle switch straight wired, bought it this way & now i want to fix it so i can use my brights & dim's.

Any & all help would be appreciated.

I am not any sort of mechanic so a little explanations & colors of wires would help lot's.

Thanks in advance.

(There are no fog lights. Single bulbs for brights & dim's)

Oh yeah as for a relay, Is there one or not? In other words do the headlight wires run straight to the dimmer switch?

Get a Haynes manual first and foremost, it will be very accurate for your 94. Also go to the FAQ/DIY section and download one of the free service manuals.

There was a recall for the headlamps, I think it was RC875. If you send me the last 9 of your vin and mileage. I be able to find out if you have any recalls.

I doubt any dealer is going to fix it until it's put back original first.

No relay, but adding one is an excellent idea. There's a write up in the FAQ/DIY section.
Wondering why your truck is wired that way to begin with, you may have more than wiring issues.

+1... On the write up. And its probably wired that way because the PO couldnt afford a new HL switch or Multifunction switch. Except for the PO's wiring, this might be an easy fix.

i literally just had to do this on a durango, you can try to put it back to stock and find out the switch is bad, and replace it, its just one plug with like 14 wires on it. or you can install a 2 position switch and you can wire it for high and low beams. the headlight plug should have 3 wires on it, one is high, one is low, and the other is a ground. the low beam is a purple wire i do belive and the center wire is your ground, and that leaves the other wire being the high beam. so if you had a 2 position switch( on-off-on) you wire the low beam to one of the on postitions, and the high to the other position. the choice is yours. hope it helps.

I would hate to run them on toggle switch. that's what i'm currently doing.

Found the wires that the headlights run from the vt/wt & rd/og, followed it all the way into the headlight switch tried to splice it from there & no luck! Any suggestions?

id say if you hooked it back up to the original switch and it was a no go, then thats prob why he had it on a toggle in the first place, look at a junkyard for a replacement headlight switch.

Would the park lights still be on even though the switch is burnt out?
