Default 99 ram 1500 4x4 cam?

Hi, i have a 99 dodge ram 5.2 i am currently rebuilding.. i have a few question on what to get. first off what type of piston would be better a flat top or 4 valve release?? how big of a cam can i go? im looking for low end and mid range torque with a noticable idle if possiable.. the rebuild is going to be sock sizes.. just want a nice cam and im putting headers on it too. also gettin a hughes plenum repair kit .. for a cam i was looking at the Xtreme Energy XE256H: Cam & Kit.. would this work?? thanks

as far as i know that cam will work just fine. but remember in order to get the full bang out of it, you will have to get it tuned for it.

if its a daily driver dont go over .430 lift, and 268 degrees advertised, not .050 and i think is close to the magum cam, just my idea.

That cam won't work, you have a roller cam not a flat tappet cam.

Make sure you pay attention to the note. Stock springs cannot be used.

Those would be overkill. Bind at .620? You are only doing .480 lift.... Something a little taller than stock is all you really need. I would have a chat with comp cams, and ask them what they recommend.
