46/47 RE trans help.... 4BT into a 99, 1500
Pulling the 360 and 46re out of a 99 sport 1500 2wd, I have the 4bt and a 47re to go in....
The questions....
are the plugs/harness the same between the 46 and 47?
Is there anyway to program the 1500 PCM to shift the trans at a different rpm with something like superchip or hemi fever tune?
Worst case I will get a 98 12v cummins harness and pcm but if I can make the gas electronics work, it will be a huge time and $ saver

Trans plugs should be the same.
Not sure you will be able to convince the gas PCM to run things. It is going to be missing some inputs that it wants.... (cel will constantly be on)
Another member did this swap.....

here are a few pics
picked up the 99 sport 1500 2wd for $800 runs and drives great and still registered, couldnt pass that up, traded a old 454 for the 4bt, bought a complete rebuilt 47RE for $500, and have a few parts rigs to pull the power steering/vacuum pumps, intercooler and piping, and all of the other little stuff, with any luck this thing will look and work like it came from the factory this way
day i picked it up
changed tires wheels and both bumpers
and the 4bt.... wish it was a p-pump, but the a-pump will do just fine

well... im about 99% sure the map doesnt have anything to do with trans control, but thats one of the things i will probably hook up and install just because its simple to do, i know it will be reading boost instead of vacuum, but i know a few boosted gas guys that dont have any issues with that part of the mess
depending on how many codes this thing throughs with the minimum sensors hooked up, i may install some dummy sensors and/or resistors to keep the CEL off, but if its not feaseable, i'll just pop the dash apart and disable the bulb

will do! hopefully pulling the 360 and 46 out this weekend (weather permitting) and with any luck, will have the 4bt and 47 mocked up in the truck, from the looks of it, the 47 should bolt in with out any cross member or drive line mods, but we all know how that goes... then got to figure out the engine mounts, im going to use some 2nd gen 6bt engine mounts as to not modify the frame, just have to come up with some sort of an adapter plate to bolt them up to the engine
