Check the voltages at the fuse in the PDC and check for power down at the connector for the front sensor. Make sure you're getting power there first. If your over 1v thats why you're getting the code, its shorting out somewhere and sending to much down, or so its been explained to me haha. You arent by chance getting p0138 and p0141 are ya? The sensors are connected on our 01's and if one shorts out, it can short the other out too.
Yea. I got the p1038 also. I will check wiring. Thx.
When I had the Bosch o2 the truck would have a irratic shift. And the engine sounded rough. It felt like it was trying to hard. With the ntk. The idle is smooth. The truck feels like it's easier to move. Not lugging around. My exhaust has a good tone to it now. Before it sounded like I had a glass pack.

Im getting a dealer sensor tonight, Ill post how that works. So youve got the p0138 to eh? Not surprising, youve prob got exact same cause I do, somethings shorting both out... These codes are nightmares, I swear. Im replacing my pcm if the new sensor dont work. Everything ive looked at, its the only other cause I can find.

I drove to work today and no problems..the dodge worked good...i havent had a chance to check the wiring..i am hoping thursday on my day off...by the way,the harness for the 02 sensor for my dodge was from a 2002 dodge 5.9...it seems because my build date was in june 2001 they were already using the 2002 parts?
Our trucks are the same..01 offroad...hopefully we figure it out...

Sounds about right for for 2002 parts to start getting used Yea def check the wiring for cut or frayed wires, clean the connectors out too.

I installed a mopar O2 sensor last night, no CEL back yet. Truck feels a lot different too, idles smoother, idle doesnt bump, just feels different. Still waiting for the o2 monitoring system to finish its cycle so I can see whats up. Neighbour lent me a handy scan tool

Well the mopar o2 was my fix. No CEL back, o2 monitoring systems are working properly, no complaints from truck yet. Might be worth a shot?

I spoke to soon. My CEL is back with the same codes. It passed E-test though, so that tells me the computer is f'ed. Im going to be replacing that next.

If you do not find a short Dodges recommendation is to replace the pcm...

Still looking for short. Wires are good. Can't seem to find the problem. Truck is running great. A miss once and awhile. But still looking. You think it can be the computer?

Thats chryslers answer to when a new O2 wont fix it and theres nothing else wrong unfortunately.

Do you have a programmer/tuner by chance? Use it a lot?
