PCV valve, or valve seals. How many miles on it?

Does the brand make that much of a difference?

It could. It's all about the quality of the brand.

I've had engines that could smoke a beehive, put in a better oil (Rotella in this case, that's what sold me on Rotella), and they quit smoking.

What brand and weight of oil did you put in it?
Is the PCV valve in good shape?
How many miles on the engine?
What is the color of the smoke? I assume it is blue?
Does the engine use any oil, even if it isn't smoking?

Edit: Also, have you checked your crankcase breather filter? A plugged filter will cause your engine to burn oil. It will be on the valve cover that doesn't have the PCV valve.

I think you should first check the following three things:

1. Check your PCV valve.
2. Check your crankcase breather filter.
3. Take a magnet and stick it through your throttle body onto the plenum pan. Does it attract the magnet?

PCV valve is good checked that the other day. The breather filler os the one on the other valve cover right? If so I will check that when I get home and get back to you. Amd when I do the magnet thing should it attract it or no? Thanks a lot really appreciate the help.
