Durango engine in my Ram

I don't know about the Durango but the van has their starter on the opposite side I think. And the Durango's are a 5.9 aren't they? If you change to a 5.9 you will have to get a tuner from Hemifever and flash your computer so that it will run better. Also you need to make sure you get the flex plate from the 5.9. A 5.2 is internally balanced and the 5.9 is externally balanced.
Do a search on engine swaps for more information.

they will both bolt in no problem assuming they are both 5.2s the vans do have the starters on the other side but that is a matter of the trans bell housing not engine block.

I am putting a Durango engine in my truck. So far the only differences I've found is the oil pan is slightly different so you have to be sure to get an oil pickup for a Durango, and the durangos only use one coolant sensor unlike the rams that use two. You will have to drill and tap a hole for the other sensor.

the rams have 1 or 2 sensors depending on the years 94-96 used 2 97-01 used 1. that will be your only difference.
