dodge v10 magnum tranny swap
I have a 2001 2500 with a v10 and automatic and the tranny is just about dead. So I wanted to swap it out for a nv4500. Does anyone know what, if anything I'd have to do in regards to the computer or if I could just bypass it without any major problems.
Any help would be great. Thanks

Couple options.
1. Do nothing. Just install the manual, and call it a day. This will annoy the PCM, and your check engine lite will constantly be on, with a bunch of transmission codes.
2. Flash the PCM with a manual trans tune. Quick, easy, and effective. So far as I can tell, there is zero difference between manual, and auto trans PCMs, aside from the programming.
3. Replace the PCM, and wiring harness, with the stuff from your donor truck. Have the PCM reflashed with the correct VIN, so the ABS, and SRS won't be annoyed, and leave THOSE lites on all the time.
