Default #rd gen wheels on a 2nd gen?

I am in need of some economically priced replacement wheels and am finding 3rd gen takeoffs for less than I can purchase wheels and tires to replace my worn out/bent/rusty wheels for my 1997 2500 4x4. What if anything can be done to run these on my truck?

Just install them on the truck. They should be 17" wheels and will fit just fine.

I personally run the 2000-2001 16"x8" factory aluminum wheels on my '96 Ram 2500 truck. The only mod I had to make to run them was to have the outer rib of the rear drums turned down between 1/16" - 1/8" for wheel clearance.
