Ok, here's what I gathered. The trans temp pin on the pcm showed 1933 ohms, with a ambient temp of 80 degrees. I still have no trans codes, nothing odd other than the overdrive. Unfortunately my scanner doesn't show live data and I can't see a way to backprobe the connector so I can hook up a voltmeter at speed and see if the pcm is doing its job. Just for giggles I checked all the fuses by the driver door in the dash and in the pdc. All checked out good. I also swapped the trans relay with another relay again, just to see what would happen.....nothing did.

The part that makes the wires go in an angle is a cover. there should be four prongs that release it... after that you should be able to probe it.

Now that I played attention, I took the little cover off and want able to backprobe the wire. The only one I could find that sounded right was the 3-4 shift solenoid control. It read 13 volts from zero to 60. Didn't change at all. Is the pcm not telling the trans to shift into od?

It pays attention to throttle position/engine load as well. If you can cruise at 60, steady state, and it doesn't drop to zero, PCM is either not requesting O/D, for whatever reason, or, there is an internal fault in the PCM. (bad circuit) If it is requesting it, and not getting it, it should set a code...... since there are no codes, that would imply that it simply isn't requesting it. Next trick is, WHY isn't it requesting it.......

So if the pcm isn't requesting overdrive, then I could replace the pcm and theoretically fix the problem right? However, that's $300 plus I don't have at this moment. This may be a dumb question, but, is there a way I can manually ground the wire from the pcm while at speed. Hook up a switch or a button or something?

Yep. All ya need to do is ground that wire, and O/D should engage. If it doesn't, it's a trans problem. If it does, probably PCM.

Do I just cut the wire and ground it out or do I have to keep power to the wire until a speed where od would normally kick in?

You don't want it grounded until you actually WANT overdrive.
