Default Need Help

Hello y'all! Glad to be part of this...

have a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4...front seal leaking...hired a mechanic and he quite half way through the job...so I'm putting the diff back in and I don't know how the bearing caps go back in because he didn't mark them. The inside of each cap has a groove on it and I don't know if the groove goes towards the center of the diff or towards the outside of the diff????

Anyone have this issue or put their diff back together and can give the correct info it would be much appreciated!

thank you!

Gary

You working on the D44 front, or the 9.25 rear?
With the diff. out, sounds like you're changing the driver side axle seal on the D44. Right?

Yes....Working on the Dana 44....I figured it out. Found out there are stamps on the casing that should match the stamp on the bearing caps. Thanks you!
