Default 94 ram 1500 fuel problem

Please helpI have a 94 ram 1500 that just turns over and will start for about a minute then dies some times, replaced the fuel pump and battery with same results checked fuses and relay both work and I'm getting almost 12.5v at the pump. I don't have a fuel pressure gage to check gas pressure. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

You can rent a pressure gauge from most of the big chain auto parts stores. That would be my next test.

I would change the fuel filter and run some seafom through it and and some their the brake booster vacuum. Line it'll smoke to beat all hell for a few but it'll do some serious cleaning on the intake and injectors.

Well, fuel filter is a part of fuel pump. You can't JUST replace filter etc, etc.
I have 94 and had similar problem.
Check your connections at the fuel pump (top of the tank) - In my case it was faulty ground connection to the pump and debris inside of the tank (too much mudding)
As far as the pressure gauge goes your should have 40psi - and this is specific to 94s, cause 96+ have pressure regulator set higher.
I know there was several cases of bad fuel pump out of the box here.
Try this, unplug the fuel line going to the fuel rail (where the injectors sit) run extension hose to some kind of container and turn the key. Gasoline should shoot out. Not just drip.
I think it was Carter pumps that had a problem, but I'm not sure.
Maybe someone knows which one is better than other.
Check all your connections.
Hope this helps

So I pulled off the gas line at the fuel rail and started her up and only had gas trickling out to check if the fuel line was clogged or pinched I pulled the fuel line off at the pump and had similar results. @ 94 beater how did you find out it was a bad ground, did the pump not engage at all or did it have limited pressure like in my case? So from here not sure what to do. Do I drop the tank again and take back the pump for a new one? Or are there any other tests to see if the pump is running slow due to connection issues?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Pulled out the tank. Took out the pump.
Inspected everything. Turned out, one of the pins (ground) inside of the fuel pump connector was corroded and connection was poor.
Another way if you crafty you can power up the pump inside of the tank, bypassing everything and see if the pump works.
Connector has 4 pins
1 Dark Green with Black - Fuel Pump (+)
2 Dark Blue - Fuel Sending Unit (+)
3 Black - Ground (-)
4 Black with White - Ground (-)
Put power between 1 (+12V) and 3+4 (Ground)
If you can do this - you'll know what is wrong - wiring or pump

Where I'm at now is I have a wiring issue but not sure how to tackle it. I get 12.5v @ relay then down hill from there. At next connection I get a little over 12v and at the pump 11-12v through out cranking it over. I used a 12v power probe at the pump and truck started right up so seems to me I have a bad connection some where. To help that I put bulb grease in all the connections and still no dice. Do I just run a wire from the relay by the battery to the pump or does anyone else have an idea?

Much thanks

Did you check the connector under the PDC?

Run a new wire from the relay, to the pump. (and use a fatter wire.) Should end the problem.
