ok I put a hughes plenum kit in my truck last summer low and behold I have a leak in it again. something must have gone wrong, oh well. What kind of gaskets does the hughes kit use? just standard intake and plenum gaskets?

 

Yep, get the fel-pro intake set, and you will be all set. Be sure and torque the plenum bolts in proper sequence, and don't forget the blue lok-tite.

The updated one from the dealer is also a good choice. You'll also want the block-to-manifold gaskets.

How have you concluded it failed ? Ping , oil consumption etc etc ?

 

The Hughes FI-AirGap came with "Made in India" gaskets.

Definitely get a set of Fel-Pro.

 

haha I have everything, pinging (sometimes), oil consumption, oil in the intake, loss of power and mileage, and I have a hi pitch whine from the intake

 

so changed out the plenum gasket and low and behold it was blown out in 4 places and one place was blown out 3" ! changed everything and runs awesome now ! amazing how much power that restores!!!!
