Default Is my transmission dead

The other day I hauled some wood 13 2x6s on a 16 foot trailer. It started doing long slow shifts then shifts to neutral to no gear/ losing gear during shift. Now when parked it will not creep in gear but if rev it it'll go just haven't drove further than my long driveway. Is it done I just want someone to confirm what I already dread. What do I need to do for a good towing rebuild. Already have a big cooler haven't installed yet

Dark red, lightly toasted smell. Apparently I've been checking it wrong so at lunch today I'll let it warm up and check in neutral after running through the gears.

but if rev it it'll go
That makes me think torque convertor . Maybe even a clogged filter .Time to pull the pan at least for a debris inspection .

It was raining at lunch so no fluid check yet. I had od off. I may just pull the pan off to check everything out and put a new filter in just to see if that will help. I'm afraid it prolly a bad pump or something

Fluid is a little dark but a little over full maybe next week I'll be able to get a filter and change it to try that
