Default Fuel rail cracked

So, I did the plenum fix on my 97 dodge ram 1500 318 a couple weeks ago, and it has been leaking gas. I thought it was just one of the o-rings didnt seat or something, but I seen a crack in the fuel rail. I was wondering if there was a cheap way to fix this because i just spent 100 bucks on the plenum and its still burning a bunch of oil, and the junkyard wants 50 bucks for the fuel rail, and im honestly tired of spending money, not to mention Im in school and flat broke. I tried JB weld, but that didnt fix it. Any help would be appreciated. I would also try to post pics of the pool of oil in the plenum and intake manifold, but idk how to post them. It was bad, real bad. Thanks guys

Change your PCV valve. Get it from the dealership.

I wouldn't trust ANY repair on a fuel rail. Being yours is a 97, that probably implies you have the plastic rail?

For pics, just use the "insert image" button. Then just drop pics into the box that shows up. A pic of the connector on your fuel rail would be good, I might have one here that will work. (metal, with the pressure test valve.)

Do you have a pick-it-yourself style junkyard anywhere near you? If so, pickup yourself up a metal fuel rail off a 5.2 engine and you should be able to find one cheaper than $50 at that type of junkyard.

I believe I actually have a spare fuel rail for a 1997 5.9. It is plastic though. If interested, PM me about it.

Also, where in Southern Indiana are you? I'm right across the river from you in Louisville.

If Jolly doesn't have one PM me as I do have one. I can throw it into the mail for you.

Alright, I changed the pcv valve. Does it have to come from a dealership? Yes its the plastic rail with the metal clip instead of the quick connect fitting. Would the metal one fit where it was originally plastic? And the one jolly has, will a 5.9 work for a 5.2?

That's a lotta oil in the plenum. Sure sign of a blown gasket.

Yes, get the PCV from the dealer. It's like 8 bucks, and has the CORRECT flow rate.

It looks like the driver side of my spare fuel rail is cracked...

HeyYou, did some years have metal? What years? I have the plastic ones and would definitely look for metal ones next time I'm at the junkyard.

I had thought that the 97 was the ONLY year that had the plastic rails? Every other rail I have seen has been metal.
