Okay so I spoke too soon. Thru the city everything is fine at highway speed putting on the brakes causes the back end to bounce and shutter. Is my guess of them being too tight a good one?

How are the rear shoes/drums? Mine did that when the shoes were worn to the rivets, and were digging into the drum.

might also need your drums turned. my rear end used to hop and bounce all the time slowing down off a highway, got them turned and it was night and day difference.

Sorry for not replying I've been racking my brain trying to figure this out. Here's what I have going on. Brand new shoes brand new drums. No matter how much adjusting iI have a high spot in both sides. When slowing down at about 30 mph or more the rear end of the truck seems like its going to fall out of it. It bounces like crazy. I applied ebrake while driving holding the release and its deffinstly related to the rear brakes. It didn't do this before changing brakes. Everything went back together as taken apart. I was told to look for Axel roll by looking at the yolk and seeing if there was any sign of fresh metal rub and nothing. As far as iI can see everything is tight on the Axel. I'm hoping the tubes or shafts arnt bent. I do have in and out play in the passenger side of about and 1/8 in but no wobble on either tire .there is no sign of an issue until the brakes are applied. No noises vibrations nothing until the brakes are applyed.

PS its doing it in the city now too but mostly downhill or at traffic speed than a quick slow down. Also if I lightly apply the brakes early and come to s low stopped all seems well maybe a slight bit of bouncing but not really noticeable.

Even though they're brand new?

Even on brand new rotors/drums, I will shave a couple thousandths off, as they are invariably not quite the surface you need.... (out of round, excessive run-out) Just because its new, doesn't mean a thing.
