Default dashboard swap? is it possible

I have a 96 1500 with an awful dash. I found a 2000 model in the junkyard with a near perfect dash. My question is this. They are obviously different as to where the stereo and cupholders are. And airbag section above the glove box is different. Will the dash out of the 2000 bolt up in a 96 and what all has to be changed? Ductwork instrument cluster ac dials or *****. Basically can it be done and how much stuff has gotta be changed? Thanks for any help

The 96 has a cable to adjust heat output(blend door) where the 2000 uses voltage(positing motor on the blend door) among other changes. It could be done if you want to put the time into it to convert everything but it would probably be better off just replacing the the dash parts on yours. You can get them from LMC truck.
