Default exhaust for '00 2500, 8800lb GVW

I was looking up exhaust information and found that Walker and AP are not selling systems that support my truck's GVW. I called Walker, they went off and looked it up, came back and said we don't support that truck. They were not able to tell me what the difference was...

Anyone know what fun is in store for me if I just go ahead and install the systems they do sell?

Thanks!

It's not like there is any different room from the different GVW trucks. You got a Cummins?

Maybe their headers hit the axle or something? Idk what kinda system you're talking about. Lol

Standard stock replacement from Walker, catback system from AP. The only difference I could think of would be the axle/leafs... like the tailpipe(s) wouldn't clear full compression of the suspension. But I don't know, only guessing. It currently has a single input/dual output muffler that exits on the passenger side, in front of the rear wheel. Its in rough shape, I'll need to replace to get inspected.

Well the leaf springs are 3in wide instead of 2.5 for 1500. Can always just buy the muffler and have an exhuast shop make the rest. Sometimes it's significantly cheaper.

Assuming this is a gasser (no info) you have a standard duty truck not a heavy duty. Hd's had twin cat's and 4 02 sensors.

I think that depends on the engine. My HD 2500 with the V10 has 2 cats, but only 2 upstream o2 sensors.

Heavy duty was an option. Slight differences on the engine. (think it had an AIR pump as well)

Otherwise, as far as exhaust goes, there are no differences in the various weights of trucks.

In my 96 factory service manual there is a diagram of the standard and heavy duty exhaust. As said duel cats 4 02's going into a big round muffler along with ports for the air pump on the cats as HeyYou said.

Yeah, I should have been more clear. If the truck DOESN'T have the HD engine (which is different from the heavy duty package......) then the exhaust will be the same as the rest. HD engine makes things interesting.
