Default Control Arm replacement vs Pressing Bushings

Hi All,

I have a ball joint that is starting to give some play. I figured I would get the truck up and replace as much as I could when I get my tax return next year.

The entire control arm is so expensive, is it easy enough to just press the new bushings in place? This would free up a lot of money to get the other components update, such as idler arm and tie rods so that I know all the joints are new and fresh and I can keep them greased up at all oil changes.

Thoughts?
Thanks,
Patrick

Here in Florida, we can rent a press from Autozone/Oreilys. That would be my suggestion

Is it the one that you use a socket wrench to crank on? That is what I was guessing I would be using as well.

Tires plus quoted me at $500 to just replace the upper and lower ball joint on one side. I felt kinda bad but I laughed at the guy that told me that and said no thanks I'll do it myself.
