Default Body swap from 1500 to 2500

I have a 2001 ram 1500 quad cab, 4x4, AT 5.9 gas burner. I'm looking at buying a 2001 ram 2500 quad cab, 4x4, AT 5.9 24v cummins. The body on the 2500 is in bad shape. I'm thinking of swapping my 1500 body on to the 2500. Does anyone know of any problems I may run in to, or things I may need to consider before doing this? All input is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

If both trucks are the same cab configuration it should be a fairly straightforward process, provided the cab mounting locations are the same for the 2500 and 1500.

Got access to equipment to get the cabs off and on?

Getting everything buttoned up under the hood might be more complicated, with the differences between the diesel and gasoline engines, but you'd have both trucks to pull any additional hardware from...

Yes, I have access to equipment for the cabs. I'll check on cab mounts. Thanks for the reply.

Need to swap dashes(or vin id plate). And possibly the sticker in the door frame. Use all the wiring/dash from the 2500, Probably some differences between the two.

Cluster is probably different between the two anyway.

Dash swap may be required but either way be sure the right VIN plate is displayed, as mentioned above....
