my gas pedal has too much play and sits close to the floor if i put my foot under it and lift it moves about 2 inches maybe 3 will this affect how it runs on the highway? how can i fix this? Do i have to adjust the tv cable ?
Probably slack in the throttle cable. (the one for the gas pedal.) Could try replacing it, or, using some variety of spacer to take up some of the slack.
There is a thread on here about doing just that, but then, some said that your pedal only goes so far anyways. you just run the risk of breaking something in the linkage/cable assembly by trying to rid yourself of that slack.
Mine had exactly one fat zip tie width of slack in it. Now it's got a fat zip tie on the cable between the ferrule and the pedal lever, and just a hair of slack.
