Drilling throttle blades is a carb thing...

If you don't know EXACTLY what that cam is, don't use it.

Would a good machine shop be able to messure it and get the actual numbers? If I can't get it figured out 100%, I'll leave it on the shelf for sure. What cam would be a good fit for low and mid range power? I don't do any towing, just looking for a good power boost in the everyday usable rpm range. I don't think I've had this truck over 4000 the whole time I've owned it.

Yeah, but, they'll want some money to do it.

Look for RV cams, or Towing cams. Something that has it's power band from idle to 4500 or more. (or low hundreds to 5K or so.)

True, but getting it checked to know for sure has got to be cheaper then buying another cam.
