Question Swapping V10 engines

I need to swap out my v10 engine for used one. I have a 2001 Auto 4x4 2500. Will any of the V10s from 94 to 01 work or should i be looking for certain years? Thank you!

You would have to at least look from 96 up since that was the switch to OBD2, which your 2001 is. That's about all I know.

So far as I know, mechanically, the engines are the same. Some sensors changed, and also the modules/coil packs..... If all the electronics on your engine are still good, and it's just a mechanical failure, I would think you would be able to transfer the electronics from the dead engine, to the live one. I think.

Great, thank you for the info!

I'm in a pickle right now trying to decide if i need to replace the whole motor, or just keep going with the top end rebuild.

What's the issue with the current engine?
