Default Cheap lifters with heavy duty springs

I have a lot of lifter noise and have developed a backfire when quickly stomping and backing off the throttle. I think the cheap Sealed Power brand lifters probably can't handle my stiffer valve springs. Some of them were solid with no springiness to them when I last adjusted the rockers, others could be compressed when I pushed on them. They are supposed to be able to compress when you push down on them right?

I also rebuilt a chevy and used SP lifters and they are noisy too. I should have not replaced them at all and left the originals in. During the rebuild one of the lifters wouldn't even drop in the hole it was out of round. Had to wait a week for replacement.

Anyone else have experience with Sealed Power lifters?
Any recommends on which lifters to use with heavy springs and a cam?

I'm thinking of getting a new set from Johnson Hy-Lift

I think mopar performance offers a full set for a bit over 100 bucks.
