I think I found a solution to the stiff suspension.....control arm drop down brackets. But I've been researching and it looks like u can only get the brackets when u put a 5" or higher lift on. If there are brackets for a 3"it would be helpful. If not is there a company that would give me parts for the upgrade instead of the whole kit?

The idea behind the dropdown brackets on the 5" lift, is to maintain steering geometry. Doing so on only three inches would probably prove counter productive..... Ride quality is all about spring rates, shocks, unsprung weight, (which our trucks have a LOT of.....) and a few other things. Best you can do is probably some of the Skyjacker "Soft ride" springs...... I think they are dual rate.... so, soft and cushy right around normal ride height, but, get stiffer as they compress a bit.

Question, you had the stock 2500 springs with 2in spacers installed on a 1500 correct? My understanding is the 2500 springs are about 2 inches taller and stiffer than the 1500 springs. If you installed a 5in 1500 lift in place of the 2500 springs and spacers you would net about an inch lift. That's not enough difference for most people to eyeball without actual measuring.
