Default 2001 dodge ram 1500 engine swap

Having to replace the engine in a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5 speed manual transmission and the 5.2 engine. Picked up a semi low mileage engine from another 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.2 with an automatic tranny. flywheel will have to be changed from old motor to new. Everything else should be plug-n-play correct? Thanks for the advice.

Aren't they usually different between manual and automatics?

For the record, I am a relative noob at this kind of project. So if I ask a really ignorant question, it's just part of my learning curve and I apologize.

The one thing you will need to get is a pilot bearing with the large bushing. The Napa part number is BRG FC69907. When you look at the end of the crank with both motors out, you'll see why you need this part.
You will also need to use your crank sensor (or a new one for your truck). The auto sensors are different and won't work.

Thank you frankie b jr. Someone had mentioned a bushing, but failed to specify what.

Not a problem. I had quite a time figuring out why I couldn't get a new pilot bearing in when I did a tranny swap, until I looked at the old motor the manual was bolted to. Lol
This would also be a good time to have your flywheel resurfaced and put in a new clutch and throw out bearing if you weren't planning on it already.
Other than the the stuff I mentioned earlier, everything else should be plug and play. Same motor of the same year makes life easy.
