I was looking for some advice.....Recently did a plenum gasket and pan change with the hughes kit. While I was in there I figured I would put in a hypertech powerstat since I have the programmer. Now, every once in a while, I getthis code. I know what the code is, I was just wondering if I'm the only one with this problem using the powerstat. I put some cardboard over a section of the radiator and that helps most of the time, but it still comes on every so often. I think the powerstat is a 180 degree unit, but I'm not sure. Maybe I should just put a stock 190 degree back in it.....any thoughts?

I got that code at the beginning of the winter. I put a section of cardboard over the center of the radiator that blocks off about 2/3 of it. It has gotten down to about 15 here since I did that - and I have never had the code come up again. It doesn't get hot either. Stick with your 180......

I got the same cod ethe other day at is was 95 here. I am confused about it. I went to autozone and the put a code reader on my Durango and it read: P1281 Manufacturer Control Fuel Air Metering. The manager at AutoZone said it might be a vacum leak somwhere. But looking at this site I am confused. The code here says it is running cold. I have also been advised on these forums to clean my Throttle Body and the Air Charge Sensor orMAP sensor as a cheap way to try to track down the problem. I am doing this next week. (could not hurt) I cleared the code and it has not come back on again. Maybe it was a fluke?

OK, I'm done with my workout. I didn't need any Redbull before my workout since I waswound up about changing back to a 195 stat![sm=icon_rofl.gif]
Anyway, to offer some help you could try another 180 and hope it runs slightly hotter and/or try another temp sensor. It wasn't worthmy time to experiment. My stat/temp sensor combination waslow by 2 degrees. So close, but no cigar.[sm=boohoo.gif][sm=signs003.gif]
