Default 1999 Dodge Ram ABS & Brake Warning Lights

I have a 1999 Dodge PU, 6 cyl, automatic, 99,000 miles. Periodically a yellow "ABS" light will appear on the dash along with a red light that reads " Break". They go off when I turn off the ignition and may or may not come on the next time I start the truck. They don't appear often, but they may come on several times over the course of several days, then disappear for weeks. This started several months ago and has happened perhaps 4 - 5 times. Any thoughts as to what would cause this?

Thanks
Jay

Thanks Socha. Is there any danger in driving like it is until I get time to chance the sensor?

Socha, I looked on the Autozone web page and found a Speed Sensor ( $21.95), does that sound like the right one?

Thanks
Jay

I don't think there is any danger other then your ABS not working properly and your speedo not working until you hit 25mph.

Thats probably the one one that you mentioned, they can't be to expensive, $21 is not bad!

I've got an 06 Ram, have the same issues, ABS light comes on, also Cruise Control stops working while engaged or wont engage at all. The ABS does not work when the light is on, as I tested it on a side road, and believe me without ABS you do start sliding sideways. I'm taking my truck up to a dealership this week to fix it as I am fixing to trailer 8,000 lb about 1100 miles next week.

Where is the sensor located? Anyone got a pic? I have the same problem, and it is really irritating me.
