Default Interesting- 2 Tone Rhino-Lining Truck

I thought this would be a great idea for a work truck.
2 tone Rhino-lining on this Dodge Ram. Not mine but it sure gets me thinking.

yeah i used the bedliner on the bottom half of my truck because i noticed it was starting ti rust so i put some stuff called rust bullet on it first then put the black bedliner on after that to stop the rust....i left a small spot of rust bullet over the rust and it has been a year and there stilll is not any rust there....i like this stuff....but anyway i think the bedliner stuff looks good if you put it on right!!!!!!

i'd definately do that.. i've been talking to people who say it would look hot.. and it does.

cheaper than a new paintjob, and at least i've already got my rockers sprayed so it wouldnt take long to do the top.

I did the bottom 1/2 of my truck a few weeks ago. Cost was about $180 and I have about 20hours wrapped up in it with all the sanding. Also did inside the doors and rocker panels. Pics not the best. Also have to becarefull working on the truck now, ripped up the shoulder more then once climbing under it.

I know most of us here don't bother thinking too much about mileage but one drawback to this I would see is the increase of your coeficient of drag. Obviously if you look at this ride in overall, he is not concerned, but I wanted to chime my .02 in on that note if someone was thinking of this mod who is concerned about fuel mileage. Increasing the surface area like that, even as little as it is, you are lossing the smooth lines accross the body and increasing drag. I wouldn't care. I persanlly thought of doing this, but it is currently cost prohibitive. Looks awesome though.

I sanded down all the surface rust spots and/or all the clear coat off. I did the bed a year ago with just roughing up the paint and it did not stick. Lost most of it at the car wash. I wans't going to take the change again. Also re-did the bed, not fun.

yeah you gotta do the sanding before you spray it. otherwise it won't stick. i remember hearing about what was done to the truck when my bed was sprayed. clear coat has to be completely gone. otherwise it just slides off. as hippie experienced.

as to the COD (coefficient of drag)... i'd say it's negligible... these things are bricks anyway so kinda not going to do much. besides the whole truck done with liner, lifted, with larger tires on it.. yeah COD is the last thing he is worried about.

might add like .01 to the COD.

yea alot of guys do that. i was thinking of having the bottom half of mine done in the same green. the only thing is doing the hole truck like that adds alot of weight.
