My 1999 V10 only has 30,800 original miles on it...will it get better than 9 hwy / 9 city / 9 towing / 9 unloaded / 9 loaded, after it breaks in? Oh, never mind. On the other hand, it will break the tires loose when I don't want it to. hee hee!

It's hard to get aftermarket upgrades, Thats about it.
Tranny is better.
No plenum problem.

Default 2001 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 Auto 8L V10 MPG

Completely stock - I get around 10-12 miles per gallon; less if being silly. I would have preferred to get the 318 (5.2L) but I got a good price ($5600) at a federal government auction. No real problems except the transmission does not want to shift up from a stop and it's got so much torque I keep red lining it. Except for needing a new radiator and a frustrating water leak in the upper left of the cab (replacing the windshield helped but did not totally cure) it has cost me nothing to run except a lot of gas.

Good hauler - bad commuter.

Oops, I apologize about the necropost. Didn't notice that when I originally posted. I guess it's a good idea to keep the V10 information available though, because I'm having trouble finding some myself.
same as mine 6-7 city 9-10 HWY 99 4x4 QC LB 285 75 16 going back to the stock size

my 4x4 flat deck dually dumper gets 6.5 mt or loaded, usually overloaded with a good amount of city, pretty sure there's a conspiracy with the traffic lights.. but I can pass anything but the gas station and have never had a problem pulling anything I've hooked to!
