A hot relay will do the same thing as a hot coil, will break down as the heat rises, I would try the relay idea first before dropping tank. IMO

I just finished replacing the pump as well as switching out the relay. we'll see if it acts up again. the fuel pressure at idle is still 40psi with the new pump. the pump switch went smooth except that i snapped of the nipple of the fuel line connector. whoops. that was dumb. the dealer will tell you that you can only replace the whole fuel line. i got one at a salvage yard. that added a couple hours of frustration, but it is all back together and runnin smooth. thanks for all the help, i'll let you know if it acts up again..

seriously, how, you have a CEL for a 02 or cat problem? what does the tech say when you plugshis gizmo into the trucks diag' port and the screen says "What The F@#$" and what does your computerized state inspection print out say?

im curious b/c my buddy got hit hard with a fine b/c he had no cat and the inpsection joint banged him in for it.

i got an 02 sim, and if you go under my truck you just see a cat, but there is nothing inside of it. I get no code. all i have is a simulated cat.
