Default New wheels & shoes... Rolling on the hotness!

My truck:
'99 Ram Sport 4x4 w/ Off-Road Pkg (2 in. factory lift)

stock tire size:
265/75R16

New tire size:
haha you'll have to wait and see!

Alright, first off let me say I spent HOURS researching wheels and tires. I scoured this forum as well as a few others trying to answer that age old question of what fits?!? SO before I debut my new rolling attire let me say this...

Thanks to everyone who has posted useful info on this subject, as it was helpful, for those of you who post guesses... don't - that's why your tires rub! When push came to shove I realized I had to take the info I gathered and compare that against my own measurements. That's when I discovered that my research yielded me 50% correct info and 50% bad info.

Like most guys on here my goal was to stuff the biggest tires possible under my truck without a lift, now everyone seems to be running 285's, but I wanted something bigger.... like 305's. Problem is most people that have jumped up to 305's report rubbing or the nay sayers say it is impossible. That is when I discovered another common problem. People always talk about tire width, but they never give you the aspect ratio?? That's like saying trying to make a peanut butter sandwich with no bread... damn near impossible to get the job done!

Alright enough carrying on already..... after measuring about 9 times - I decided I could stuff 305/50R20 under my truck. Needless to say I am thrilled with the results! I managed to accomplish my goal and there is NO RUBBING!!! What do you think?

Wheels:
Gear Alloy 712MB
20x9 with +10mm offset

Tires:
Cooper Zeon LTZ
305/50R20

It's not hard to NOT rub when you're only fitting a 32" tire on (you increased overall tire diameter by less then 1/2"). Good improvement on the looks though.

I had 33x12.50x17 on my truck with no rubbing. I have a 2001 4x4 1500 with stock lift. I now have 265/75R17's.

Not to be a buster, but he makes a valid point.

I realize I only went up to a 32" tire.... that was kinda what I was talking about. the 305/50's fit perfect, but if I would have went with 305/55's they would be rubbing for sure. Well at least with the wheels and backspacing I went with.

Yeah I hate that visor, but it was on the truck when I got it, and they drilled holes in the roof to mount it. If I could easily get rid of it I would do it.
