after hours of struggle haha the problem is finally gone and it WAS the trac bar
that was causing the problems.... even though you couldn't feel any of the play
i guess there was some. I went to auto zone and for 130 i got a new one.
Now i've got almost NO play in the wheel, and no more death wobble!
ohhh...and i got new tires too, 35's procomp mud tires, they work great!!!!

I'm suprised the caster change didnt fix it. do you know what the caster #'s were? Only reason I mention it is I've had 2 tracbars go bad while having the alignment @ max caster & still didnt have the DW.
once i put my new 35's on it, the death wobble started at10 mph....i literally drove it home from discount tire co at 8 mph because at any other speed it started....now i can drive the truck full speed over bumps and its smooth as can be....i'm at max caster now i think the number is 4...
Im going to agree with dodgeman22. I replaced all my ball joints and trank bar last year and then this spring mine started to wobble again come to find out one direction on the steering stabilizer shock had blown out. So if it had a sudden jeck one way from a bump at high speed it would cause it to start wobbling until I would slow down enough to let it stop.
The exact same thing happened to me on the way home from school today. Is it a hard fix?
keegan, if its your steering stabilizer its really easy, i would recommend getting one from rancho as they make really good ones. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, get a stock one from a junkyard for like 5 bucks and for an immediate fix, just take it off you don't need it to drive with....
NOT FIXED!!!!!! i was driving today and it started again! Son of a B!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111 its nowhere near as bad as it was but just a little bit it did do it another wasted weekend trying to figure out what it could be!!!

Shaking occurs when a portion of the vehicle has a mechanical resonance frequency which receives energy from another connected source. This could be a multiple of the shake frequency, not just the identical wave frequency. e.g. The front end resonant frequency might be a multiple of the Tire rotation frequency or the engine / drive frequency.
The only solution is to change the shaking section (Usually the front-end suspension) frequency.
This may involve significant modifications. The dampner appears to be a major factor. Use a new dampner with different characteristics which will dampen instead of amplifying the shake / vibration frequency of the front-end assembly.
