I started putting together an "OFF-ROAD GUIDE" in that section a couple months ago. Figured I'd do a couple write ups then let everyone else run with it. As soon as I stopped, IT DIED!
How about a few of you guys writing a paragraph or two for me to post up. Read the few I've done and you'll kinda see what I'm looking to do. Can be anything pertaining to 4x4's. From "tire reviews" to "how to install a snorkel kit". I've tried a couple times to get some life into the "Off-Road" section. I'd like to see some useful information in there and increase the traffic a little.
The thread in the "Off Road" section is locked, it's to be strictly an information source and we don't want it cluttered with posts like "nice pic, dude". But if you post your articles under this thread, either I or another mod will move it into the guide.
I put a call out the other day in the 3rd gen section, and a few have done some good write-ups, but you know those guys, their trucks are still too new, and they won't do any serious 'wheeling.
I know where to come for the real "Off Road" guys.
Any help would be appreciated...

I am constantly looking for new info on the Off Road thread and am a subscriber. I, as a newbie Off Roader love hearing from the veterans on anything they have to say.....
I hope you get this thing up an running, I would love to see an entire section dedicated to off roading! Unfortunately I have nothing to add, but I could learn quite a bit from that.
For anyone who wants a tire that has some serious off-road capability but dont have really deep pockets for superswampers or other expensive alternatives, the Maxxis Bighorn is a great choice, I got it thinking that I would get it for the time being until I could get a better mud terrain again, but to be honest with you, I dont think I will ever buy another mud terrain beside the bighorn unless of course I go to a size they dont have, It has been even more capable than the highly expensive Toyo Mud terrains I previously had, and the avon/dean mud terrains also, but 100's of dollars cheaper, the only downside between the bighorn and the toyo is how hard it is and how long it lasts on pavement, it is truly a mud terrain, not like the mud terrains such as the toyos which are meant to last on the road also, if you really want to get around in the mud I highly recommend getting this tire, its lugs clean out very easily and keeps traction very well in the mud, I was completely stopped in a hole and thought I wouldnt be able to drive out, but the tire cleaned itself out so well that it caught traction and pulled me back out of the hole beyond all expectations.
On a scale of 1-10 I would rate the bighorn at a 9, it is an excellent tire and I would bet anyone who has used it would highly agree with me.
i do agree, me saying this becaue i aswell have these tires on my truck t the very moment, and even after the 62,000 miles i have on them, they grab and clean better the my buddies brand new 34" tsl's. and they are also at a very good price. not to mention, maxxis is a sponsor name

I will post some articles for you. I have been in the off-road world for a long time. It is a hobby for me, but it has taken off. I compete in off-road competitions and events all over the western US. I also am a Judge and course designer for FourWheeler Magazine and Four Wheeler TV. yo if anyone is looking for really good tires...i have 35 inch all terrains from BFGoodrich wow...idk what to say for an a/t tire these things are great i have a 5.5 inch lift and ive had my truck in a mudhole to the body lines on the door in 2wd and didnt get stuck and 2wd in deep soft sand and drove through with no problem these tires are definitely great for your money and they last a hella long time just incase anyone wanted to know about them!!!
