That problem can be solved by going to a remote mounted oil filter.
Well, if you want a high flow filter, and get exotic,LOL The only filter brand I'll use on my 68 Mustang is Baldwin. The stock Ford filter was at one time a V-1-F(20 years ago)I think the # is different now, but A Ferrari filter is exactly the same, except high flow, which is a B-253 Baldwin filter. I have used nothing else on my stang for 20 years.
I went to Autozone to confirm that the K&N HP-3001 will fit our trucks. I compared it to the stock size K&N HP-2004.
The K&N HP-3001 is bigger than the Motorcraft FL1A filter.
I have also found a bigger K&N filter for my mom's 4Runner and my lawn mower. Off to find one for my S10...
Some Mopar ones are made by Fram, some aren't. Mopar, if memory serves, has a couple different manufacturers for their filters. Hence why I don't use Mopar filters.
Mobil 1 or Wix or K&N, always. More expensive, but better construction. No offense to you, Laramie, but that "never had a problem with them" argument sounds like someone who uses AVeraGe, I mean AVG antivirus, on their PC. They think free is just as good as a company who is actually certified, tested, and recognized. AVG sucks.
If you read one quarter of the real reports on Fram filters, you will never touch them again.

Mobil 1 and K&N oil filters are almost the exact same on the inside. They are made by the same company. The only differnce between the 2 is the casing and the 1'' nut on the end of the K&N. If the Mobil 1 is cheaper and you hate the nut on the K&N (IDK why you would), get the Mobil 1. The K&N and Mobil 1 are the same price @ my AutoZone (sometimes the Mobil 1 is cheaper), so I always get the K&N.
