IDK if it will help but I'm watching trick my truck and they had a 2500 dodge 4x4 in there and I think its gas they put 2 rear axles on it and put A 16,000 5th wheel in it.

if it's a v1o it is 10,000 on the hitch and I have had 20,000 on the 5th wheel but I would say 15,000 is safe.

lol, purple, your truck will be fine, the frames on the rams are almost identical if i remember right, the reason 2500s are able to carry more weight is the full floating D60 rear axle, compared to our semi floating 9.25 rear

Yeah the only difference between the 1500, and 2500 with the 5.9 is the Dana 60 rear end (front end too in the 4x4). It even has the same 2.5" wide leafs as the 1500s. The V-10 and cummins got 3" wide leaf springs. oh and the lift blocks in the 2500s are about 2" taller.

The engine, transmission, and transfercase (in the 4x4) are all identical. Wouldn't it have been nice if they'd have just put Dana 60s in the 1500, and not bothered with a V8 option in the 2500s?
