Kick ass. That looks painful. It puts me in mind of the heavy loads I set up for the 45-70-- 350 grain jacketed flat points, loaded up to 2300FPS (according to the loading manual). That hurt like hell. Hot loads aren't always the way to go :P.

Nah, the 45-70 Gub'ment rifle. I've fired 300 grain Hornady XTP's out of the .44 mag, on top of a stout load of H110. They're not a good day-at-the-range load, though.

Oh, I was gonna say. 300 grain is stout enough out of a .44 On average I like the 240 grains enough. I can actually shoot the gun with one hand that way and not feel as though something has gone terrible wrong in my wrist.
