yea mine does the same thing except i dont have a shift kit... it was recently rebuilt but if i have it to the floor it wont go out of second.
Take it back to the shop that rebuilt it. The transmission should not be acting up if you have it recently rebuilt.

i wanted to give an update on my truck...i finally have all the bugs worked out of the tranny. My two problems were that i had to remove that steel orifice plug that was installed in the case (this plug is only used for 727 transmission) and i discovered that when i put the valvebody back together my throttle valve was installed backwards with the detent sleeve also backwards. I got all of this fixed and the truck feels like it has much more more, and it shifts great!
