Thanks I found a universal CV and pieced it together. Now to fix the noise I have coming from the middle of the dash. It happens when the brake is pressed at a stop light. The noosegot lower when I put the CV valve in. so it must be a vacuum noise.

pieced? are you sure you changed the pcv valve and not the crank case breather? when i went to change mine i thought i had the wrong one because i was looking at the crank case breather and it is a lot bigger than the pcv valve.

ok, ever since i got my truck its had this quirky ac. when its on vent only, if im on the gas any more than just enough to coast the vent sounds like it kicks into high gear but it actually stops pushing air. i actually think it starts sucking air. it does it all the time no matter what. i thought it was a vacuum leak somewhere. but i just installed the hughes fi airgap manifold i got and now it makes that noise all the time and it doesnt push any air on any setting. im pretty sure all the lines are hooked up correctly, which is why im stumped
yeah. and it goes and connects to the cruise control servo under the battery. i still have cruise control. its a 5 spd with 4x4, and i dont think those work of vacuum. im thinkin maybe a line cracked or one of the check valves just decided to quit. what do you guys think?
btw, how many check vavles are there on the vacuum accessories tree. i found two, one was a t in the line that went up to the firewall, the other was that 45 degree t coming off the passegner side of the intake manifold. the one going into the firewall i discovered was bad, but i dont know if just one bad valve can cause my vents to switch over to defrost completely?
one bad one can. the one that goes to the firewall was good on mine but the one on the side of the intake was bad. i replaced them both.
the one on the side of the intake goes out more often thanks to the pcv valve spitting oil vapors in there. mine and my dads trucks both had the one on the side of the intake go bad.

did it cause your truck to run rough at idle and low rpms, like a more significant vacuum leak would. mines runnin kinda rough and my obd2 scanner says its runnin a little lean all the way around. but i didnt think it could be a leak that small. actually i thought even though the check valve was bad that it wasnt actually a leak it was just a diaphragm or whatever is behind that valve would always be open
