does anyone know which direction the vacuum should flow in the lines at the t and on the side of the manifold and which direction should make them close? i replaced the one on the t and the one on the side of the manifold and i still have the wild vents. i have also looked at the wild vent fixes and none of them say which way the valves should go.

I put mine on the right hand side of the t.
I may sound like an ass here, but those valves only have two different ways to be mounted. You might have to try it both ways. Like what zman is trying to get at, you might have a vacuum leak with the cruise control. Common place for that was under the battery box.

As far as direction goes, did you replace them with oem? If you did I can try to describe by the way they look which way they go. They are glued together or press fit, and the smaller half which is about a third of the size of the other half, goes towards the firewall.
i do have cruise. i don't believe i have a leak. i did replace them with oem but i didn't try them the other way because i thought i put them back on the way the old ones came off.

If you replaced them with new oem cv's and put them on the same way, then there is another prob. And btw, the vac lines to the CAD can also be a prob and the vacuum switch on the transfer also had 2 check valves coming off of it.
I've got the same issue. I checked my topside check valve and it holds a vacuum. So I didn't buy a new one. No cruise control either. But I do have 4x4.
thats how i have them, the vac is able to flow toward the intake. i checked out the lines in the engine and the cruise servo the other day and didn't find any cracks or anything. the cruise servo was replaced a couple years ago and it still looks brand new. the vac lines to the cad look good and i didn't see a check valve on them, i'll have to go take a better look.
