The M1 is for a more high performance motor. If you have a stock or slightly modded motor go with the Hughes. The M1 will make you lose some low end so I've heard
The M1 is supposed to be for racing engines, so its primary power is supposedly in the upper RPMs that you most likely will not see.
The Hughes is supposed to be a much better bet, especially for low end, although I admit I have no personal experience with either, just what I've read and heard.

They are all the same height. They have to be to keep the linkage connections and bracket on the TB from interfering with other parts on the engine.
Not sure why you're trying to save height inside, but you're going about it in the wrong way. If you need more height, a body lift will give it to you, or if you're running the round air filter, go smaller.
