bad paint job? from dodge
Dissapearing clearcoat... Why do so many dodges seem to have the same problem? Driving down the road it seems to be an epidemic.

Mostly from poor quality primer used by Chrysler in the early to mid '90's.

poor primer has nothing to do with the clearcoat, there's a full layer of color between the primer and clear.
I suspect the clear itself is of poor quality. I've had to repaint the roof of my truck and the hood's not too far behind.

I'm not a paint expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.
The peeling paint epidemic appears to be UV ray related, since every Dodge I've seen with the problem had it only on the horizontal surfaces. Mine suffered from it as well and has been repainted.

All vehicles are going to have clear coat problems if they spend most of their life out in the sun.

I have 2 spots on the body that I would like to get fixed. When I got the truck It came with this rust spot on the rear fender thigh on the lip. Now its rusting. The other one is on the pass side. Idk what he hit but its huge and ugly. From the bottom of the fender all the way to the top of the bed.
