you don't even have to take the needles off. it slides around them. there is a red positive wire and a black ground wire you hook up and that is it. the red i hooked up to a wire in the headlight switch.(a tan colored wire) that turns on with the lights and the ground to a dash bolt. its very simple. and to answer your question it is just a cover.
Hey where he get those or am I just dense and that is the site you buy them from? I like the mopar logos. I like glows but I don't like the white during the day.

i like it , def worth 10 bucks compaired to our plain green gauges i think the white looks better than stock thats for sure and the glow just look sweet , did you have to put in new bulbs or anything
