My K&N sounded much better when I put it on. Didn't pick up any mpg's to speak of.

I think aftermarket CAI's are a huge waste of money , been there , done that . Your only gonna pull what ever CFM of air the TB , engine and exhaust are designed for , the stock intake is adequate for unmodded engines . Get an Amsoil drop in and save your dough . The stock filters can be improved upon .

Just my opinion

alright well thanks for all of your "wisdom" guys, haha i deffineltly am goin for looks with the CAI, and thanks to dakotas ram i think of all 3 of those im goin to buy it now on the 3rd one cuz it seems promising cuz it has the sheild and if i really wanted too for more airflow i can always pick up a K&N filter to put on the end of it if the one that come with it sucks... again thanks for all the help guys i really appreciate it

Like I said earlier, heat shields don't do squat. Buy it for the looks if you buy that one. Heat shields have little to no effect.

How about taking the stock housing and tube, cleaning it real good, and spray it silver? LOL That will help dissipate heat, and along with a K&N or other brand drop in filter, we should be good to go. Kind of funny all the boxes and heat shields are black.

I took aluminum duct tape and wrapped my K&N in it, til I took that all off, sanded it smooth, and painted it orange.
