New sending unit probably but you could try taking a rubber shot peen hammer and bang on the tank near the pickup assembly and see if it will come unstuck. Other than that you are looking at dropping the tank ans more invasive procedures.

I have the same issue. I have been told to check the sending unit ground, but the wiring harness disappears behind the tank and into a plastic tubing wrap, so I'm not sure if it grounds on the frame somewhere or all the way back to the PCM..

I believe it grounds back at the ecm but I am not sure. They changed so much on theses trucks over the years it is hard to tell from one truck to another.

Try filling up the tank half way and then do a few quick stops. Slosh that gas around back there really hard I see if that helps.

Probably going to be more expensive but I would recommend going to Napa or another high quality parts store as I am sure you don't want to be dropping the tank again any time soon.

when did it start this? did you fill it up all the way and then it did it?....if so, you might take the front of your gages off and move it back with your finger in case it just got stuck......heres a cheaper one
