I installed a 2300 in mine and it is very aggresive off the line. Way better than stock.

Drive down to the Springs and I'll take you for a ride. To hard to explain, It just puts your a$$ in the seat a little harder than stock. As for crawling over rocks, it takes a little less throttle to get those tires moving from a stop.
Yes the 46re is the A518 which is the two wheel older version which is the old 727 that ran single digit numbers in the quarter mile years ago. the only difference is they made small inner changes. like yours is partially controlled by electronics in the the vavle body ect.

btw lower the stall= towing work / higher the stall=hotrodding and ruining your tc if you tow alot or work it hard. (when we took my bros 2002 tranny out this weekend for a rebuild it had the excact same castings as my dads 727 on his 69 roadrunnner one stall over, different internals tho of course.)
From talking to the guys at a&a lower stalls are best for working. So I would say if you are towing then you should stick with the stock stall speed. He told me of a guy that had a 2600 stall in his ram and loved it around town-till he towed his boat and fried his tc! Its a truck it works and we dont need to give the tranny something else to go worng. Call A&A tho.
I have been talking to a trans guy over on DodgeTrucks.org he gave me a guy to call and what to ask for. I might give him a call and see what kinda deal I can get
little update on this. I finally got a hold of the guy I was told to talk to. When I told him what I was dealing with he said talk to your machine shop they will be able to tell ya what to use. Basically no help at all. I got a hold of hemifever cause he's doing my tuning and he said a 2600-2800 would be good.
I called PATC and the guy I talked to said I would be fine towing with one of their TC's in that range. I'm gonna give the shop that rebuilt my rear a call or stop by there and see what they say
